A historical novel exploring the life of Nest, Princess of Deheubarth in the 12th century and her struggle to survive and discover her identity as she navigates an uncertain and dangerous path between Welsh and Norman worlds.
Nest is just ten years old when her life falls apart. Her father, King Rhys ap Tewdwr, is dead, and the rest of her family are scattered as the Normans ravage South Wales. Nest’s journey takes her to the Borders as a prisoner, to London to the court of the King of England, and finally back to Wales. As she tries to discover the fate of her family, and treads an uncertain path between the Normans and the Welsh, a nation is plunged into war, and Nest must decide where her loyalties lie, and risk everything to find her way back to where she really belongs.
