New stories from the Mabinogion is an exciting series of contemporary stories by leading Welsh authors, reworking the ancient myths of the Mabinogion. Ronnie’s Dream by Niall Griffiths is the second in the series and is based on the tale of The Dream of Rhonabwy, in which a traveller asleep in a filthy hovel has vivid dreams of Arthurian splendour. Set in present day Wales, the 2009 retelling features three men on the run, hiding out in a disused caravan on a Welsh hillside. One of them has fallen into some kind of drug-induced coma where the conversation of his mates becomes woven into his dreams and nightmares.
